Error Running PSAS.exe - application configuration error

I have just downloaded PSAS (1.02), and I cannot run it. I get the following error message:

C:\Program Files\PSAS\PSAS.exe

This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Obviously I tried re-installing. I even tried re-downloading and re-installing, and changing the path to avoid the space. No luck.

Has this problem been seen before?

Hi,

such problems occur with some antivirus solutions like AVG and NOD32. Try to put PSAS into the whitelist, it should then work just fine.

I'm on a relatively "clean" system that is offline and has NO antivirus software running.... Can it be anything else?

sorry, I guess that would help eh? My system is Windows XP SP2. QMAT 5.0? was previously installed without any problems. Installed PSAS however I get the runtime error described. I've tried uninstalling both PSAS and QMAT and trying again, but the same error occurs.

I use also XP SP 2 most... without problems to start.

But as you can see you are not alone:
